Finding the balance in life?
I couldn’t help but notice this new button with a round, red thing on the top bar above when on the Create New Post page. It turned out to be an add poll button, oooh. So to test out this function, I’m adding a poll here that I hope will gather some response yea?
It’s been a month plus since I’ve came here, I’ve been to Pavilion once, last week. And surprise surprise, I did not get any J.Co Donuts. Yes, Wen Qi went to Pavilion and did not get any donuts. Shock. Horror. What I did have was a meal at Carl’s Jr though.. Hehe. And while at the top floor of Pavilion, I took a few photos while my camera peeked precariously over the railing to get the shots. This is one of them…
I like how they layout the escalators at Pavilion in such a way that you don’t have to turn one whole round to get to the escalator to the next level. Perks of having lots of space.
I didn’t get J.Co Donuts, but this week I got to have Beard Papa’s cream puff and coronette(spelling?). The vanilla cream is just mmmmm. The coronette has a thin, flaky pastry and is dusted with icing sugar, which makes it “crunchy” and a bit sweet on the outside and creamy and vanilla-y on the inside. Nice. The cream puff is equally good too, with it’s light puffy pastry and the cream inside is seriously a lot, it oozes out with every bite.
Oh and I just came back from the nicest Chinese meal I’ve had this week. I love the specialty fish dish they have there, it’s deep fried and has a buttery spicy sauce. Sinful. And the dishes are reasonably priced too. The food alone cost RM39 for the 4 of us.
To those who were wondering how can I just eat eat eat and not gain weight, I exercise too ok… Though I think I probably have put on some weight, can’t be too sure about that, no weighing scale here. I’ve gone swimming the day before and today too. Today’s swim was good, I’ve not swam that much in a long time, it felt good. Though I’ve got to work on my technique and stamina, really can’t swim long distance in one stretch.
And yesterday, the dance club had a free trial lesson for yoga, and my friends and I went for it out of curiosity. It was more exhausting than I thought it would be. I thought yoga’s supposed to be calming. There certainly was a lot of stretching and bending and balancing involved. The yoga instructor demonstrated all sorts of crazy poses like standing on his head using just his forearms as balance, and looking like it was the most natural thing to be doing ever, standing on ones head. And contorting into all sorts of unimaginable ways. Of course the motions we did were easier but yet still struggling for me, never had to move my body in those positions before. Like… squating on tip-toe while balancing my fingers on the ground, then putting one foot on my thigh, then taking my hands off the floor while maintaining my balance. Or the “lotus position”, sitting cross-legged with both feet on your thighs, then stretching your arms around your back to grab your foot. Wah, sounds complicated enough for me trying to explain it, try actually doing it. Ouch. But some of the stretching was good, calming, inhale… exhale.. Just not too keen on the spiritual aspect of yoga and all that. Dance class is offering lessons for Latin Dance, Hip-hop and Belly dance too though. Hmmm
Oh and my mum would be happy to know that there’s a organic shop in Semenyih which is actually quite well stocked. Hehe. Probably hopes with that I can buy organic food and eat healthier. Well, I got some organic noodles today. That’s a start, right?
Long weekend coming up, which would have been even longer if it were not for the LAN class which takes up my whole Saturday. If not for that, I’d have Friday afternoon till Monday, which is Deepavali, free. Heh.
But ok, end on a bright note yea? Here’s a few things to look forward to in the coming weeks:
- Music room will be open sometime soon I hope. Best part is, the clavinova is fixed! Yay!
- Deepavali holiday, outing/plan?
- Er.. first time I’m leading at Christian Fellowship’s cell group. Not so sure if I’m looking forward to this or terrified
- Me Birthday, in one month plus’ time
